Pygmy antelopes Hunting

Pygmy antelopes are miniature African hollow horned mammals. They stand only about 11-27 inches (30-70 cm) at the shoulder, weigh up to about 45 pounds (20 кkg). Their horns are straight and very short, sometimes not even visible behind the tuft on the antelope’s head. As a rule they are very elusive and shy, and therefore poorly studied.

"It has always seemed to me that any man is a better man for being a hunter. This sport confers a certain constant alertness, and develops a certain ruggedness of character....Moreover, it allies us to the pioneer past. In a deep sense, this great land of ours was won for us by hunters." A. Rutledge

PYGMY ANTELOPES HUNTING

Though the pygmy antelopes cannot display majestic horns and are not considered a dangerous animal, they still are a highly desired trophy for any true trophy collector. It is very hard to locate and harvest this timid little thing among the heavy African growth. Besides, these antelopes do not depend on waterholes, going with the moisture in their plantbased diet. This spot and stalk hunt demands quite some time and a good amount of patience.
