Zambia became one of the last countries of Africa discovered by foreign hunters; and it is considered the one of the best destinations to hunt dangerous game such as lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant. Its diverse habitats also give shelter to a great variety of plains game. The endemic species of Zambia include the Kafue Lechwe, Black Lechwe, and Cookson’s wildebeest.
The hunting season in Zambia runs from May to December.
Luangwa Valley: Best time for the Leopard hunt is from May to September. The best time to hunt Buffalo and plains game is September-October.
Bangweulu: The best hunting season is from August to November.
Mufunta and Kafue Flats: Great hunt throughout the season.
Lusaka is the city of arrival. The transfer to the hunting camp takes about 2 hours on a charter flight or up to a 7-hour drive, depending on the chosen hunting area.
Classic African safaris are organized in Zambia. 4x4 vehicles are used for transportation around the area. You will complete the trophy animal stalk on foot. Marshana hides are used to hunt swamp game.
The state hunting grounds offer accommodation in the classic safari tents. Each has a shower and toilet. There is also a large lounge and dining zone, outside deck and a fireplace for an evening fire. Electricity is available from generators and solar batteries. Many camps have Wi-Fi. Daily laundry is offered.
Exclusive hunting camp Shiwa Ngandu
This is a colonial style estate built in 1914. Four comfortable en-suite rooms are at your disposal. Each room is furnished with the original pieces from Gore Browne’s era. Highly experienced staff, classical cocktails, best world cuisine and amazing views.
East: Mwania, South Luangwa (Upper and Lower Lupande), Northern Luangwa and Chikwa. All of them border the national parks, which provide for the abundance of game.
North: Bangweulu: swampy area, that gives a great chance for endemic species of Zambia.

South: Kafue Flats: home to the unique Kafue Lechwe.
West and Southwest: Mufunta: great for giant sables and other plains game.
Zambia has a collection of the jewels of Africa: the legendary Victoria Falls with the best spot for falls watching — Knife Edge Point; Kariba Lake — the world's largest artificial lake and reservoir and the scenic Zambezi National Park. Altogether, there is a plentitude of tourism possibilities: fishing for the sharp-toothed tigerfish or elusive vundu catfish, helicopter tours, rafting and canoeing, bungee jumping, paragliding and many more.

Zambia is a malaria-ridden zone, you need to take antimalarial agents.
You need to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter the country.
The tse-tse fly is present to one degree or another in most of Zambia hunting grounds.
Nationals of many countries do not need a visa. Please check if your country is on the list.
It is allowed to harvest more than one trophy of each species, however please keep in mind that the price for the additional trophy will be half as much as the first one.
