Hunting in Uganda

Uganda is the “Pearl of Africa” according to Winston Churchill. It gives a rare opportunity to hunt the real Africa, which has not yet been totally changed by civilization, and to get some endemic species like the Jackson’s Hartebeest and the Uganda Kob. 75% of the trophy fees go directly to the local communities.

ROUTE

Most of the international flights arrive at the airport of Ettebe city. From here, you can get to the capital of the country, Kampala, within a 45-minute drive. It takes a 4 to 10 hour drive to get to the hunting camps. You can also take a charter flight to Kitgum.

HUNTING

Mainly hunting in Uganda is spot-and-stalk. You will drive around the hunting area on a 4x4 vehicle and then start the stalk. Be ready for walking. This isn’t the easiest one of the African hunts, but surely a very rewarding one. The marshana hides are used to hunt for Sitatunga.
