Zimbabwe is located in the heart of southern Africa, and it is a popular destination for affordable Big Five safaris. The country has a wide variety of terrain providing great hunting opportunities for both the plains and dangerous game. There are eleven national parks located in different parts of Zimbabwe. Their surrounding buffer zones offer excellent hunting in the untamed Africa.
Hunting in Zimbabwe is legal all year round, however the sunny winter months are the most comfortable and rewarding (May - September).
ROUTE
The main international airport of Zimbabwe is located in the capital city Harare. Besides Harare, you can arrive at Bulawayo and Victoria Falls airports. Charter flight or a several hour drive is required to get to the hunting camp.
HUNTING
During the day, the hunting team tracks the elephants. Once the large tracks are found, the stalk starts. In Tcholocho and Mahenye the hunt is organized during the night at the water holes near the border of the national park. In Save we hunt from hides near the water holes, most often at dusk.
ACCOMMODATION
Comfortable safari tent camps are at your service in Zimbabwe. Each tent has an en-suite shower and toilet. There is also a large separate tent for dining and a fireplace. Generators produce the electricity. In Tcholocho the hunters are accommodated in a very good lodge, consisting of separate en-suite chalets; electricity is available constantly.
