Most of the international flights arrive in Mozambique from South Africa. The transfer to the hunting area is on a vehicle or by a charter flight. The length of the hunt depends on the trophies chosen.
Most often, it is a classical spot-and-stalk safari. The hunters drive around the hunting grounds on a 4x4 vehicle and then track the trophy animal on foot. The hunt in Mozambique starts around half an hour after the sunrise and lasts the whole day long, until about half an hour after the sunset. The blue duiker is hunted with a caller.
Accommodation depends on the chosen hunting area. Mozambique has both the traditional east African tented camps, and the comfortable hunting lodges with en-suite bungalows. As a rule, there is a separate dining area and campfire. Laundry service is provided.
Muanza: central Mozambique. Main trophies are lion, leopard, buffalo, plains game.
Sena: northwest from Muanza. Main trophies are crocodile, hippo, elephant. Fishing for tigerfish and vundu catfish is available.
Catapu: northwest from Beira, between the camps of Muanza and Sena. Large nyala, nice suni and red duiker.
Zambezi Delta/ Kunguma camp: north of Beira. One of the best buffalo hunting grounds.
Cahora Bassa/ Tete Camp: Main species are great leopard, nice lion, large croc, hippo, buffalo and plains game.
Catandica and Coutada concessions: northwest from Beira. The main area for elephant hunt.
Kambako: northwest. The main species are nice elephant, buffalo, and a lot of leopard.
Gaza/Mbambala camp: West part of Mozambique. Main species are elephant, buffalo, and leopard.
