Yellow-backed duiker Hunting
Cephalophus silvicultor
Distribution: Forest zone from Senegal eastward to southwestern Sudan and southward through Gabon, Congo, Congo and southwestern Uganda to northern Angola and parts of Zambia.
Description: It has been long considered the largest duiker; however, it is actually somewhat smaller than the Jentink duiker, to which it is similar in its stocky build. The general color is a very dark brown. Yellow-backed duikers get their name from the characteristic patch of yellow hairs on their rump, which stand when the duiker is alarmed or feels threatened.
CITES: Appendix II. Only an export permit is required. These species do not require an import permit (only in some countries that have adopted more strict rules).
