COMMON OR RINGED WATERBUCK Hunting

Distribution: The Webi Shebeli river valley in southeastern Ethiopia; essentially east of the Rift Valley in Kenya and Tanzania; east of the Rift Valley in the middle Zambezi and Luangwa valleys in Zambia; Mozambique; east of the Kwando River in the Caprivi Strip of Namibia; eastern and northern Botswana; Zimbabwe; and eastern and northern Transvaal in South Africa.
Description: The general color is grayish brown, lighter on the flanks and sometimes blackish on the back. There is a long, white stripe above and before the eyes, the end of the muzzle is white, and there is a white color under the throat. A conspicuous white ring on the rump encircles the tail; no other antelope has such a marking.
