BIGHORN SHEEP CALIFORNIA Hunting

Ovis canadensis californiana

Distribution: Canada: British Columbia. USA: Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah.

Description: Considerably smaller than the Rocky Mountain bighorn. Horns are shorter and less massive and tend to have more flare. The coat is not as heavy and the color is lighter, being more gray than brown. Normally a dark strip extends from the dorsal area through the white rump patch to connect with the dark tail.

CITES: Appendix II. Only an export permit is required. These species do not require an import permit (only in some countries that have adopted more strict rules).
