Distribution: From the Yenisey River eastward throughout the rest of Siberia, except for the ranges of the Chukotka and Amur subspecies.
Description: Males stand 88-94 inches (225-240 cm) at the shoulder and weigh 1,250-1,365 pounds (570-620 kg), sometimes more. The antlers are often large and massive, with good palms and many short tines, and may weigh considerably more than 44 pounds (20 kg); however, in some areas antlers of the cervine type may also be found, with branched points only.
