Distribution: Widespread and common across Siberia from the Urals to the Pacific, and extending marginally into Mongolia and Manchuria. Also on the Shantar Islands and Sakhalin.
Description: It has a heavy build with a large head, small rounded ears, shaggy tail and massive legs. Its fur is long and thick.
