Distribution: A limited range at the extreme northwestern end of the Caucasus Mountains.
Description: Larger than the Mid-Caucasian Tur, with a more ibexlike appearance and horns. The horns are dark, scimitar-shaped with the prominent cross ridges on the front surface. The average length totals 32 inches (83 cm) and reaches 11 inches (30 cm) at the base.
CITES: Appendix II. Only an export permit is required. These species do not require an import permit (only in some countries that have adopted more strict rules).
