DALMATIAN WILD SHEEP Hunting

Ovis Gmelini Aries Dalmaticus

Distribution: On islands of the Dalmatian Sea in Croatia, who are declared free of domestic or feral sheep by the Government, and where only populations of wild sheep exist. Currently scientists only recognize the islands of Dugi Otok and Otok Plavnik as having pure Dalmatian Wild Sheep populations. SCI follows the scientific ruling when accepting entries for this species.

Description: Shoulder height 28-32 inches (70-80 cm). Weight 80-120 pounds (35-55 kg). Very heavy wooly hair, mostly whitish, with some dark spots on skin and face.
