Distribution: China: Altai mountains of northern Xinjiang. Russia: The Altai, Sayan and Baikal regions of Siveris. Mongolia: Northwestern and north-central parts.
Description: Slightly smaller and paler than the Tian Shan wapiti. Weighs up to 660 pounds (300 kg).
