URIAL BUKHARAN Hunting

Ovis bochariensis

Distribution: Northeastern Turkmenistan, southern Uzbekistan along the border with Turkmenistan, southern Tajikistan, and northern Afghanistan.

Description: Shoulder height about 32 inches (80 cm). Medium sized sheep. The general body color is sandy-yellow or cinnamon yellow. Males have a black neck ruff and a saddle patch. The horns grow upward and sideways from the skull and are crescent shaped in a single plane or almost so. Horn length is up to about 28 inches (73 cm).

CITES: Appendix II. Only an export permit is required. These species do not require an import permit (only in some countries that have adopted more strict rules).
