South American White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus cariacou
Distribution: Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Curacao and Margarita Islands.
Description: Considerably smaller than the North American whitetails. Mature bucks average less than 100 pounds (45 kg). Antlers are generally small, thin and seldom have more than 4 points to a side.
CITES: Appendix III. To export this species from any country that has included this species in Appendix III, an export permit is required. Import of the Appendix III species requires a certificate of origin issued by the exporting country.
