KERMAN SHEEP Hunting

Ovis gmelini laristanica x O. vignei blanfordi

Distribution: Kerman Province of Iran, in the Kabr-va-Rouchon Wildlife Refuge and eastward and southward. Boundaries with the Laristan mouflon to the west and the Blanford urial to the east are unclear.

Description: Believed to be a hybrid between the Laristan mouflon and Blanford urial, which occurs naturally. Its winter coat is darker than that of the Laristan mouflon. There is a white saddle patch, but no bib. A black neck ruff is present. The horns are homonymous, showing a flat frontal surface with sharp corners.
