Distribution: Aardwolf is found in most of Southern Africa: Southern Angola, South Zambia, Southwest Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Lesotho, and South Africa.
Description: By far the smallest of the Hyaenid species. Head-body length totals 21-31 inches (55-80 cm), tail 7-12 inches (20-30 cm), height at shoulder 17-19 inches (45-50 cm). Weight around 17-26 pounds (8-12 kg).
CITES: Appendix III. To export this species from any country that has included this species in Appendix III, an export permit is required. Import of the Appendix III species requires a certificate of origin issued by the exporting country.
