The Sheep Show 2014

The Sheep Show 2014The Wild Sheep Foundation will hold their famous Sheep Show on January 22-25, 2014. The expo venue is at Reno Sparks Convention Center & Peppermill Resort & Casino. This premier Mountain Hunting and Outdoor Show will welcome over 300 exhibitors from all over the globe. Reno in Nevada, the biggest little city in the world, will become home for hundreds of hunters, fishermen, outfitters and all other outdoor lovers.

The Wild Sheep Foundation strives to be the best managed, most respected and most influential conservation organization in the world, for the benefit of all stakeholders and Wild Sheep worldwide. Their purpose is to put and keep sheep on the mountains, and they’ve been doing a lot pursuing this aim since 1977. This Foundation is dedicated to enhancing wild sheep populations, promoting professional wildlife management, educating the public and youth on sustainable use and the conservation benefits of hunting while promoting the interests of the hunter and other stakeholders. The Foundation for North American Wild Sheep tradition began on a November weekend at Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, in 1974. Thirteen wild sheep enthusiasts passed the time by sharing stories about their encounters with the majestic mountain creatures. After realizing how fortunate they were to have all shared such incredible experiences, they decided it was time to give something back. They formed Foundation for North American Wild Sheep so men and women everywhere could get more involved in the positive management of wild sheep. It was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in Iowa on September 14, 1977, and began accepting paid memberships in 1978 as more people joined the cause. The commitment and noble spirit of FNAWS quickly helped the foundation become the fastest-growing wildlife conservation organization of its kind.

However, the Sheep Show is not only about the Sheep. Every outdoor enthusiast will enjoy visiting this Convention. Besides meeting with fellow hunters, talking to outfitters about future hunting and fishing trips and shopping for gear and clothes, everyone can push their luck and take part in the Auctions and Ruffles. This year you will find a wide range of all kinds of donated items. They include archery or rifle hunts for sheep, bears, deer and other species, also wingshooting and fishing. Along with that you can try to get fabulous works of art, like for example bronze sculptures and paintings; guns and ammo; gear and clothes; exotic furs; touristic trips to different countries and taxidermy works and services.
